Melinda Windsor

Playmate of the month for February 1966, here is Melinda Windsor, a lovely girl reputedly from Akron, Ohio.We don't know her real name, as Melinda was a pseudonym used by the 21-year-old student at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her centerfold was photographed by Tony Marco. The current poker face meme could have been invented by her as she seems to only have one limited expression throughout her photoset...a couple of other photos I've found show that in fact, she has a fascinating smile which, while I think it is enchanting, probably wasn't to the taste of the Playboy airbrush-trigger happy team.

According to Wikipedia,
"She had been working as an insurance rater and taking night classes at UCLA. She was going to use the money she earned posing for Playboy to finish her degree and then attend graduate school, her goal was to get a Ph.D and become a teacher. She did finish her bachelor’s degree later in 1966.

A small controversy arose after her appearance in Playboy. In a newspaper article the university stated that they had no one by the name of “Melinda Windsor” enrolled. Readers of the magazine wrote to the editors of Playboy asking if they had their facts straight. Playboy responded that Melinda was a student at UCLA in the fall of 1965 when she posed, but was not enrolled during the winter of 1966 and that she had used a pseudonym.

Her biographical data published by Playboy stated that Melinda was born 25 June 1944 in Akron, Ohio, her father was a chemist and her mother was a homemaker and she worked for Kemper. Since she used a pseudonym to protect her true identity this data may not be accurate."

Whatever the truth of this, it seems that she did pose for other publications and was undoubtedly a stunningly beautiful girl. There's very little information about her, as you might expect; but perhaps we should be grateful that we have these images from her short but dazzling career in modelling.
